I'm in nearly the same situation. My current plans are to tint my tail lights and paint my calipers and looking for an exhaust. I'd appreciate some recommendations from your experiences.

Look man, if u wanna keep ur warranty u wont be able to do much, those a4s are heavy as f*ck and u need some serious work done. Chipping is one of the few options that u might have and still keep ur warranty. But stage 1 won't do much of a difference. U will still get smoked by magnums and stuff. Some dealers are mods friendly so u might get lucky there but u gotta talk to them. However, if u dont care about ur warranty, u can get ur car pretty quick for about $3000. You could pull high 13s on 1/4 mile if u go with stage2+. The high pressure fuel pump is kinda pricey but is well worth it. If ur looking for sound, yah..get a testpipe and air intake along with better exhaust system. The air intake is about 300 bucks for a decent one and doesnt make that much of a difference(probably 5 hps max) but it does sound sweet. I made some mistakes and wasted some money in the process of learning but right now I am where i wanna be at. The guys on this forum are really helpful so do a little bit of research and ask any questions u might have before u spend ur money on stuff

Yeah... I mean keeping the warrenty isnt my biggest concern... speed is first but yeah thankyou. what kind of exhaust system do you have on your car?

It is a magnaflow exhaust. The only reason I got it was cuz I got a deal on it. Usually exhaust system for our cars runs arout 1100 and I got this for 700 so not bad. It does sound sweet and combined with a test pipe it gets the job done. The test pipe is actually one of the smartest upgrades I did. Problem is I wont be able to pass emission but thats why I kept the stock cat and I will swap them when it comes time for emissions. But u dont have to worry about emissions for a couple of more years since ur car is 08, is that right? I am not sure what the regulations in every state are. Warning, the test pipe might be really good but dont forget that it is a bit stinky. U row ur windows down and u will be able to smell it, the cars behind u will be able to smell it too. Alternative of test pipe is high flow cat. The member of this forum Mike2pointzero can sell u one for about 300 and the test pipe is like 90, so its up to u what u wana do. But I almost wanna say that exhaust alone wont be that much of a differnce unless u do get the stock cats replaced with either test pipe or high flow cat

chip + test pipe = best bang for the buck.
