Plastidip is very durable. It feels like rubber so it will not chip. To peel you would need to grab it to pull it up. Do a couple coats for sure.

A high flow cat will also allow a stage 2 car and should pass emitions but I can't gaurantee that.

Thanks I think I will do the plastidip then, but will have to wait until it gets a little cooler here, I'm sure it wouldnt set will with the high temps.

so far as the test pipe / high flow cat, basically the only way I would have a chance to pass the emissions test would be with the high flow cat right?

It depends on what's involved in the test. If they do a sniffer test, yes, a test pipe will fail. If they do a visual, a test pipe will also fail. But if they just do a computer test, then you could pass with a test pipe.
