please help! i want to change my wheels but what i can do to put the TPMS back on to the new wheels?

I think you have to buy new sensors (check out Tirerack they explain it).

 

I had to get new ones because they could not rebuild the old ones.

 

How much do they normally cost then?

 

MY friend said he can remove the one on it already n put it on the new wheels?

 

Just depenDs if they will seat ok on the new wheels or not. Mine would not seat right but they can work. Or buy some new ones. If you are keeping the stock wheels and tires I would leave them on and get new ones. If you are taking off the stock tires then try to put them on.

 

Using Tirerack they said about $300 to $400.

 

so can i use the tmps sensors off of my 17's for my 19's that i want to slap on????

at audi they are about 100 a peice

and i believe they have to be programmed to the car or am i wrong????

please excuse the ignorant question i dont know much about tire sensors, and i have cluster-pHOBIA , i get annoyed when i see any lights on my dash i.e: check engine, tpms, low engine oil, things like that.

Some can be reused and some can't. Depends on the wheel and if there is room for the Audi sensor. $100 each is about right. Where did you get your wheels? Go back there and they can probably help you out as well (unless bought from a private owner).

i got some vmr v710's with tires for 725.00 bucks without tpms sensors, i just have to get them repowercoated (they are matte black) and maybe within a few months get rear tires so in the long run i save a few hundred bucks . i asked the audi dealership and they said 400.00 to install the tpms sensors plus labor... i figure the labor is to take off the tire and put the sensor on ,
