Thumbs up Possible new car?!/

Its been a while since I’ve owned my Audi but I think it’s about time I get back into the game. I’m looking at a B7 A4 2.0T MT. The Evo’s gotta go because it sucks on gas and quite frankly if I can’t have it at 500whp then I don’t want it anymore. I know a lot about the B5 but not so much the B7. How are they? I would obviously get Quattro. I’m not looking for a hp monster because I have to drive to work every day and it can’t break down. I’ll also be broke after I get the Audi lol so I don’t have any mods planed. Are there any B7 specific problems I should be aware of before I go looking? Anything else I should know? Also don't tell me to search or I'll whip out the ban stick haha

Dumping the evo huh? The biggest difference between the 1.8T and the 2.0T is the high pressure fuel system. Its a known problem that the lifter bucket under the high pressure pump wears out from the intake cam shaft. If you let it go for too long it will mess up the cam and the pump costing you thousands. You won't be able to go more than 270 horsepower without replacing the HPFP either. So it costs a whole lot more to mod than your old EVO, and more than that of the 1.8T too. If you want reliability and some performance you can upgrade the DV and get an APR chip for around 250 horsepower. They also burn oil like a bastard if you don't upgrade the PCV system.

Personally if I were to buy a B7 i would get the 3.2L, more options, no timing belt, little problems, and its a torquey f#%$&r.

Eh, the 3.2L usually has navigation standard, heated seats, zenons, wood trim, leather, and if you can find one with a manual its faster than a B5 S4 stock. I just can't keep up with the maintenance on a 2.7T personally. I'd give you my old S4 if i still had it, but i think the kid drove it into a wall anyways.

get a 2.0t. These are heavy *** slugs that need mods just to move. Read the sticky's up top for good info.

i love my b7 2.0T. i'd recommend it. i've had no issues. great power and great fuel economy too. it can be modified for more hp too.

Never had a problem with my 2.0T on the autobahn here in Germany. Have ran with many 2.8FSI's and 3.2's...no problem. Also 325i's and older 328is don't stand up very well with this "lowly" four cylinder. And do not get me started with the Grandpa C230k's and C280's, what a joke!

Seriously the 3.2's are great engines, but the 2.0T is somewhat more modern and more mod-able. Go for a 2007/2008 2.0T with Sline and other luxury packages if you need them. I like mine, it came with all options you could possibly want except automatic, which I did not want anyway.
