Previous A6 owner looking for guide on A4
Hi all,
New to the forum. I used to own a 2001 2.7t A6. Loved the car, hated the non-stop maintenance. I bought it used, so really have no idea if the PO was a maniac or what, but once I hit 75k miles, it needed new turbos and a transmission.
Fast forward to today. My wife wants a convertible and I have found a 2007 A4 2.0T with 29k miles, it looks pristine. I don't want to condemn Audi based on my previous experience, but am scared to death to make the same mistake twice. Are these two vehicles apples/oranges, or is it reasonable to assume that there is enough history/relationship that I can expect the same outcome.
I realize any car can be a lemon, but just looking for some good ol' fashion A4 experience from you all.
Thanks!

I had a 2004 A6 2.7T that I traded at around 85k. It hadn't given me any problems. I now have a 2008 A4 and it is just about ready to crack 90k with no issues. I am guessing you may have had an abused car. Check out the A4 and drive it. If it looks as good as you say then there is a good chance it was maintained as well. Best of luck.
