Random whatisit question
I just bought a 2007 a4 and there is a place to connect something electronic in the center armrest. I've been searching but can't figure out what could go there. I know am a fool but any help would be help would be appreciated.
drflaco216 is correct, but, perhaps, not complete in his response.
It is your cell phone docking cradle to allow you to integrate your cell phone with your car.
When you have your cell phone in its cradle, and that cradle is docked, then, if you have the voice control module, you can talk to your car to tell it to dial a certain phone number using the voice activation button on the steering wheel. Likewise, you can use the mode button and left scroll-wheel on your steering wheel to scroll through your cell phone's address book and dial any given phone book entry from your steering wheel. And, last, but not least, you can answer a phone call by pushing the left scroll wheel button on your steering wheel, if you do not have auto-answer set up on your cell phone.
There are a couple of microphones in your car (most likely in your ceiling-mounted control panel), that are used to send your cockpit noise to the caller/callee, and your car's stereo system is used to reproduce the caller/callee voice/noise.
I use my cell phone hands free all the time, but I have had real challenges getting a part number listing for which cell phone cradles are available from Audi.
Yes, I know about the compatible bluetooth cell phones document:
http://www.audiusa.com/audi/us/en2/t...nity_bluetooth
but I am looking for a listing of the cradles for the supported cell phones....

I have my phone integrated through bluetooth only. I leave it in my pocket the whole time. I'm not sure about cradles, but there are some contacts in the center arm rest that I think have some relation to the phone stuff, but I'm not sure what exactly, and I don't use them.
