Hi guys picked up a 2007 s line b7 a4 couple of months back. It suffers from a rough spluttery tractor noise idle (mainly when cold) and seems to be burning oil as i only topped it up a few weeks ago.
After some searching on here I seen posts about a PVC valve so opened the oil cap when idleing and there was no suction tho when i pulled my hand away it was splashed with oil. Anyone any pointers? Thanks in advance.

 

A lot of use have some oil consumption issues. Mine goes though a quart about every 1000 miles or so. Some have had worse and others better mileage. Not sure about the sputtering. Are you getting a check engine light?
