Shaking & Limp Mode After Light Hit??

After a light rear end hit the other night car drove home ok but next morning it shakes badly and seems to be in limp mode and the check engine light is on. Where do I start the troubleshooting?

I'd start with reading the code....limp mode and a light bump in the rear shouldn't have any correlation between each other. My guess is you've developed another problem. Get the code read then go from there.
