Should I buy this 06 audi a4?
Should I buy an used 06 audi a4 2.0T (non-quattro) 50K miles for 10 grands? I see it does have clear carfax and autocheck. As far as I know with this model, cam follower is the worst nightmare issue and definitely replace it right away no matter how good it is (how much does it cost at Audi dealer, by the way?)
I just can't understand why an 07~08 Altima or Accord (nearly base-model) with 50K miles cost ~12grands while this audi is that cheap.
Isn't it AUDI? I mean exterior and interior, it beats those Japanese badly.
My current car is a Nissan and it's pretty good so far.

You said it's not quattro--is it a manual transmission? If not, it has a CVT transmission which I would steer clear of myself. Honestly, quattro was a requirement for me. They handle so much better.
That being said, I have an '06 2.0T with 67k miles on it and love it. Nothing wrong with going back to 2006 if it's in good shape and low miles.

Should I buy it?
Drive a few before you make a decision--especially one with quattro. We don't get much snow here, but the way the quattro handles is night and day over the FWD. Also, I'd stay away from the CVT personally. I don't like them and they tend to be very expensive when something goes wrong with it. The quattro has a real auto transmission or you could hunt around for a 6-speed. There are lots of them out there.
You really should drive both quattro and non quattro. There is a difference in drivabilility. I have a manual quattro, and had to have it serviced once. I got a FWD loaner. It handled different from the start, and then on top of it, we got a major snowstorm (of the nasty West Michigan type) I really missed my car. The FWD loaner behaved like a bigger version of my 2000 GLX Jetta, that was a nightmare in the snow. The CVT also had some issues. If you get the car, be sure the TSB on the CVT was done. If not, you will notice a funny brief vibrating at speeds below 25 MPH when you stop. Sorta like if you forget to hit the clutch just before you stall a manual. The TSB corrects the problem. If you ever try to sell the car, it might be hard to get a good price for it if you live in the snow belt.
Well it is probably cheaper because of the CVT. If I were looking for another A4 F-trac I would only go with the 6sp manual. Before I purchased mine in '07 I read a lot of Euro reviews (mostly German) they all stated the best tranny for this model was the 6sp manual followed by tiptronic. Any thing else does not use the full potential of the engine. Of course if you are ok with the CVT and the price is right, go for it!
