Hello everyone, sorry if there is any similar thread to this one, but I am a new one here so sorry again . I have an Audi Allroad 2.5 TDI 2001, but I wanted something newer so I was thinking about switching to Audi A4 2.0 TDI quattro 2007 (and I think that it has 140hp). So, I want your advice, is the Audi A4 worth replacing my Allroad, or I should stay with it. Any common problems with the A4? What about the engine? I've heard that 2.0 tdi from Audi is not a very good solution, but let me know what you think about it. Thanks in advance

 

Not sure where you heard that the 2.0 TDI is not a good solution., It's an excellent engine. I used to have an '06 A4 2.0TDI with a manual and was extremely happy with it. Excellent car, and one of their best engines. I can't compare it to the allroad, because I've had no experience with it, but from what I've heard the 2.5 TDI is not very reliable and people stay away from it. Everyone I know prefers the 2.0 TDI over the 2.5. Anyway, hope this helps.

I've heard from some mechanic guys here that the nozzles(injectors) of the 2.0TDI on A4 B7 are very sensitive to the fuel, so if the diesel fuel is not of the best quality, they are common problem. But I am not sure about that, and that's why I ask you about your experience. Thanks.

 

The 2.0TDI 140 or 170hp are great motors. The 140hp is the most popular. The fuel economy (if that interests you) is much better in the 2.0tdi (6.7L 100km) over the 2.5tdi (8.7L 100km). Performance is not that far apart between the 2.0tdi (140hp, 0-100kmh 10.0s 203kmh) vs the 2.5tdi (179hp 0-100 9.5s 207kmh) either. And of course there is emissions, the 2.0tdi is much better at that as well with the particle filter.
