silver b7 need tint help
#2
Getting mine tinted in the next couple of weeks, otherwise I'd love to help. I plan on going as legally dark as arizona law will allow. Though I'm not 100% sure I really want the front/rear offset, so it's possible I'd match. I just don't know yet.

Bummer, super dark looks nice. A buddy of mine went limo-tint (less than legal...) on his SRT neon and he just accepts that he'll pay a few hundred in fines each year, depending on how pissy random cops get. But when you have a back car and it's 118 degrees out, you probably don't give a damn.

No pics, but we tinited my wife's Focus at 35% on the front doors and 20% on the backs and rear window. The change in shade is noticiable, but doesn't jump out at you either (Missouri you can tint fronts to 35% and the others as dark as you want). I was hesitant (that is why we did it to the wife's car), but am glad we did. I had a grey 2004 A6 that I did 35% all around and wasn't happy with it. Just didn't look dark enough.

i went 5% all over on my car the first few weeks but it looked tacky and it was really dark at night ( because i live out in the middle of no where texas)
so i got it redone at 35% (which is legally the darkest you can go in texas) and 20% in the back .

Also, forgot to mention that 50% isn't worth it. It is so light that it will provide little benefit. I have heard of people tinting their windshields (illegal everywhere as far as I know) at 50%. The guy I talked to said it helps cut the glare, but is still easy enough to see through.

My car had great tint when I bought it, but what was ok in Nebraska is not ok in Michigan. Just beware, some aftermarket tint on the rear window might defract the headlights behind you making it hard to see what's comming up. And finally, as I discovered the tint wracked havoc on the automatic self dimming inside and outside mirrors, they didn't function correctly.
