Looking at an 07 with 39k miles, it is certified to 100k miles by Audi, just wondering what scheduled maintenance is costing yall on these cars and how often you are having to get it done?

Also does the A4 require premium fuel? (specifically the 2.0T)

The next Big one is at 55K and is over $500. The car uses full synthetic oil which is about $60 for an oil change. Use the service indicator to determine when to change the oil. Mine triggers between 4200 and 5000 miles. As for the premium fuel, the car will run on regular unleaded, but will loose power and gas mileage. Pemium is recommened for the 2.0t. I use to have a Jetta GLX with the VR6. Premium was recommended for that engine, and that is all I ever put in it. I have a friend with the same car, and he is too cheap to put in the premium fuel. He has put in premium just enough times to realize that the car has a noticeable mileage increase when he uses premium. I also have a friend that has a Cadillac CTS in which premium is recommended, and they only put regular in it and complain about poor mileage. Others on the Cadillac forums say the same thing that using regular on an engine that premium is recommended hurts mileage.

The 2.0T has a high compression ratio, so it requires higher octane to avoid knock. If you use lower than premium, hopefully the ECU is smart enough to avoid knock by reducing performance, but you're better off just putting in premium.

What about the timing belt? What is the interval for that and how much is that going to cost us?

The timing belt is scheduled at 110k. I think I've heard people getting quotes for around $1,200 from the dealer.

Never wait until 110k to change the timing belt, 80k is when it should be changed, 90k max. I've changed way too many cylinder heads from snapped timing belts to know this.

Does Audi go by miles and/or years? I know my Opel it was 100tkm or 5 years, is that the same for the Audi 2.0T? Right now my 07 2.0T has 29tmls on it, so I won't see 80tmls for at least 4 or 5 more years.

Thats good. I was expecting a lot earlier of a time. I just hit 31 k and I had my belt changed under warranty at 30k due to a bad cam pulley so at the earliest I am due at 110k and knowing me I wont even have this car anymore.

since my 55k maintenance was 450.00 then you figure a cost for 56, 75, 85 and 95 my guess around 2,000 for that (may be low) then 1200 for the timing belt you are well over 3k from 55k to 110k miles. now if you do it all your self big savings. i have to do dealer maintenance to keep my lifetime powertrain warranty that the stealership had on the car at the time of purchase. That is why audi care saves big bucks imo but when it runs out you aint saving big bucks anymore :-( The audicare on my car cost 450 then now add the 3200 bucks and after 110k miles..oh add brakes another 650 per this site..you are at 4,000.00 you pay the stealership to drive 110k miles. in other words an audi at the stealership costs $40 in maintenance costs per 1,000 miles. just my swag could be higher or lower. my guess if you did it all by the book less than 1000 bucks or 10 bucks per 1000 miles. if you change oil every 3k verses 10k like the manufacturer recommends then another cost difference...higher or lower.
