Default A/T Shifter Issue

Hey Everyone,
It has been awhile, I hope that all is well. My dad has a 2005.5 A4 2.0T that he a Asked me to post a question about. My dad was driving the car and he hit a curb pretty good and pretty much destroyed the passenger front tire and rim. The issue is, ever since the accident the car c at only be shifted into Drive, Park or Reverse. You cannot shift it into Sport or Manumatic mode. Has anyone else ever had this problem before? I have no idea what would cause this so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Is PRNDS highlighted red on the dashboard?
It could be the circuit board....maybe it got disconected for a second during the bump and now is throwing a code.
It could be one of the magnets.
If its just a code an audi mechanic should be able to reset it.

Thank you Stebel for the reply on this,I really appreciate it! I just saw my dad yesterday and yes, PRNDS is in fact highlighted in red on the digital dash display. What do you think this indicates? Also a quick update, the car can be shifted into Manumatic (+/-) mode just not Sport. Thank you again for the response
