Default Tech to Tech:GENISYS and my AUDI

Hey i need an audi tech to answer my question, I work at a Ford dealership and use IDS which is fords Integrated Diagnostic Software which allows us to change and watch parameters on ford models,{only} I also have a Genisys which is what use for Non Ford cars to do diagnostic work. I have seen the capabilities which are very limited on the genisys and was wondering if it would allow me to change parameters on my audi?? Like i do very often with IDS ie:tire size, gear ratios, boost control< Datalogger (which allows you to command any comandable sensor or switch ect.) i want to watch my boost, as i dont have a podi, and maybe tweak some parameters... i dont have a chip yet either, but a chip bassically just relearns your ECU much like IDS can update a mustang pcm ect... any thoughts on genisys capabilities on audis?

You mean the Genisys scan tool? Can't say i know anyone thats used one of those on an audi before. I don't think you will be able to with that scan tool. You can with your lap top however using Lemmiwinks or unisettings. You need to buy a vag com cable that will communicate with your lap top. The vag com is a reversed engineered version of the factory scan tool which has almost every function of the $5,000 scan tool for the price of the cable. VAG COM software is free www.ross-tech.com. Once you use a vag com, you won't want to use the genysis for anything.

osunds alot like a vcm cable it can be applied via usb to any laptop thus making it a scantool, or ids though ford charges 500 moula to update and install each vcm, but i guess i will just bring in the audi tomm after work and dink around with genisys ill update if anything can be changed, thanks for the update on CAI bassically i have learned either step up and do a k04 or just dont bother. hp gain vs cost is a tricky game

No, a K04 is also a waste of money. Go garrett turbo, or don't do it at all. No one i know that has a K04 is happy with it.
