thinking of B7 avant, seat question
I am very interested in getting a used B7 avant, but am having trouble sorting out an issue. I tend to be fairly picky about seats and like seats that are firm with good lumber support and with strong side bolsters.
I have sat in the standard seats in the B8 and B7 models and found them to be lacking in the support I like. I do like the s-line seats in the A3 and the sport seats in the B8.
My question is, do the B7 s-line models have seats with more lumber support and stronger side bolsters. There are none for sale in my area to try.
I have searched several forums and can not find out much about the B7 s-line model seats (wether there is a change in the seats, or just standard seats).
thanks

I know my '07 s-line (sedan) has really nice adjustable lumbar support in driver and pass seats. I do believe they are just the basic B7 A4 seats. The side bolsters are OK, could be a little deeper, but I am not complaining compared to my 2000 a4 avant (which has no lumbar at all).
If you need more support then I would suggest a retro of the S4 (Recaro) seats.

For the US Models the S-Line seats appear to be all standard A4 seats (which are pretty good), but lack the larger side curve support. I drove a German A4 B7 S-Line 2.0TDI (170hp) a couple of years ago (loaner) and it had seats similar to the S4/RS4 very good side support for curves and such. Not sure why the US models only have standard seats in their sporty models. Maybe to cut costs and since there is a speed limit in the US we do not need good cornering seat support?
While I was out looking for a B7 Avant, I noticed that the SLines seemed to have the electronic lumber support and extending seat front (for long motorway drives)
I ended up buying a 2005 B7 Avant SE, which has the normal basic seats, would have preferred the SLine seats but given the number of speed bumps where I live, the Sline ride would have killed me.
I don't know whether they are standard on the SLIne or it was coincidence that the SLine had that option selected at new
