My friend just bought a 2007 Audi A4 and since I own an A8, he asked me about a warning symbol he is receiving (image attached). The warning symbol remains on whenever the headlamp switch is in the Auto position.

Having never seen this symbol, I thought no problem I will just search the web, knowing I would easily locate the culprit and save the day.

...three hours later I have basically learned nothing.

So it is my hope that one of you Audi gurus have seen it before and can assist us in finding a fix. Thanks in advance for your help.

I think that is for a dipped headlight. Might have a bulb or ballast going bad. Could also mean the headlights are out of adjustment. Google dipped headlight for more information.

UPDATE: Sorry, I was wrong. It is for the light/rain sensor. They must have auto headlights and/or rain sensing windshield wipers.
