Default What mpg do you get from your 2.0 TFSI

What mpg do you get from your 2.0 TFSI I'm running around at around 31 mpg and get 38 on a run which I don't think is too bad.

Sadly I'm selling it though to get a smaller powered diesel engine as the fuel costs are killing me.

Is the TDI 170 A4 a lot more economical than what I have?

Are you sure about those numbers? I don't think the TDI does much better than that.

I get around 20-22mpg around town (back and forth to work) in my 2.0T and can squeak out maybe 30mpg on the highway.

Between 26 to 28 on average with 80% highway driving. I can get 32/33 when taking a roadtrip with my 2.0T.

38?! thats nuts. i was pumped that i got 31 after almost 4hrs of driving today, with mostly country highways. but when i do city or suburbs i only get like 25-28

but i use non ethanol 91 octane gas and do a 'throttle body' reset every now and then cuz that helps. also, the cool spring weather seems the best for my mpg

38? That's a pretty bold statement. Are you physically calculating out your MPG or going by what your computer says? If you're getting 38 I'd be surprised. I'm even burning ethanol free gas and staying out of the throttle (most times) and I still have a hard time getting better than 31 on highway. But if you are by a slim chance, then I'd be keeping that car as long as I could. Diesel won't get much better MPG and it costs a lot more right now, at least where I'm at. The extra cost to upgrade to a diesel will buy lots of gas.

Best milage I have seen for a 2.0TFSI from any year. The 2.0TDI 170hp/350nm is a pretty decent engine, but has problems as well. The PD injectors fail quite often and the turbo's last between 100-150tkm. The 2.0TDI 140hp/320nm is also a good choice (and more common). You might want to check out the 2.7TDI (180hp) or the 3.0TDI (233hp) with Quattro.

Default Me too...for years

my 2006 2.0T now has 215,500 miles on it and still gets around 37mpg (me calculating it at the pump) when using 93 octane. I do have a manual 6spd so i'm sure that helps.

I Have the 2.0TFSi DTM, it has only 37,000 miles on it (yes only 37k!), I got 41.9 driven very carefully on long motorway runs (get 37/38 easily) and between 22 and 28 around town

This is calculating using car's computer and a third party OBD connected calculator.
