Default would a chip do this?

Ive recently chipped my A4 about 3 weeks ago and yesterdayI was driving slowly around a roundabout, then accelerated moderately out of it and the car jolted and cut out.... cambelt went!!

garage has not yet looked at the engine in detail to see if the valves are bent etc which i am sure they probably are knowing my luck. cam belt was last changed as per manufacturers recommendations so would a belt go 40000 miles after a change as a result of chipping? or just plain unlucky

OK, just curious because Contitech belts have a 2 year warranty I think. I don't know the specifics of what's covered, and I realize that at 40000 miles since the change there's a good chance you're outside the 2 year mark, but I figured it was worth a mention.

Otherwise yes, it sounds like bad luck...sorry man.
