Guys,

I just recently purchased my first Audi and after a few weeks the check engine light came on.

Got it read at autozone and it came up as P2181, cooling system performance.

Explanation
Low engine coolant Level.

Probable cause
Failed radiator or water pump
check ECT sensor

Well the engine coolant was low, under the min amount. So I got the right coolant added that recently. The temp gauge in the car shows exactly in the middle. The check engine light is still on. Any ideas of what could be going on?? If it was a water pump or radiator I'd imagine the car would heat up quickly.

Thermostat? That's what that code was in my B7 and I can't imagine Audi changing too much when it comes to engine codes platform-to-platform.

Watch your temp when the engine's cold. Does it warm up quickly, peg to the middle and stay there or does it take a while to get up to temp and then wander a bit?
