2010 audi a4, 60k miles on it.

All of a sudden, when accelerating from a stop in 1st and and continuing shifting up, there is a LOUD engine revving sound, and it just goes up and up and louder. It seems like its coming from the passenger side front engine bay. Once the car is stopped or in idle the sound is gone, then I take off again, the sound just gets louder again. It sounds how it should when the engine revs up but the rev sounds never stops when changing gear from 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 4th etc.. It is just a consistent loud rev sound from around the engine but the shifting and rpm's are normal.

Any ideas what this is?


no check engine light
Revving in idle is fine.
Idle is fine.
RPM's are fine.
Shifting is fines.
Engine and transmission seems fine.

you know when you are in 1st gear, and you hit a high rpm- how loud the engine gets then it resets when you change gear into 2nd and so on. It's like that Loud, pulling, revving sound, but never resetting, its just consistent and loud the entire time, even as you are changing gears.
