I happened to be in my Jaguar dealer for a TSB update to my XKR and took one of the new XE sedans for a test ride. My kid has a 2015 A4 so that is all I can compare it to. The test drive was in the turbo 4 which has 240HP and compared to the 220 HP in the A4 there is a significant improvement to acceleration. It is a all wheel drive system and handled as good as the A4. So if Jag has any marketing capability this would be challenge to the A4 and other mfg. cars in the same range. Just an observation

 

Is it priced competively with the A4? Because a chip will easily make up the slight hp difference.

 

It's a price competitor so it is in the same dollar value. As for the chip it goes both ways . Add a chip tune to both and see what you get. I don't care either way as this size car doesn't fit my driving style but for those interested you might want to take a look. As I once mentioned Audi did a great marketing job and there are a lot of loyal owners even through the oil burning and now the diesel troubles.
