Under body cover in my A4 does not extend all the way, but rather stops somewhere in the area of front tires. Basically, engine is not covered from below.

A few somewhat naive questions:

1. Is this standard and all A4s are designed this way?
2. If so, does not it mean that all the dust and dirt from roads will build up around the engine?

Here is a picture of what you should have. Sounds like you have #1, are you missing #15?

That's interesting. My 3 month old A4 is also missing #15.
