A4 vs S4
I have owned my A6 since 2005 and now have 216k miles. I bought a 2003 A4 3.0 MT6 for my daughter almost five years ago, and at 106k it has been relatively problem free. So I know something about Audis.
My well maintained A6 is starting to wear out and I am looking ahead a couple years to buy a 2012 A4 or S4 off lease. I am partial to the A4 2.0T knowing it can be chipped and provide good performance with reasonable gas mileage. My lead foot, spoiled by my chipped 2.7T, yearns for the 3.0T engine, but realizes forced induction engines (turbo or supercharger) do not yield good gas mileage. (I also own a 2005 Crossfire SRT6 with the 3.2 supercharged engine.)
I am just trolling for feedback from owners who made the A4 over S4 decision and what options they recommend, regret not buying, or wish they had avoided.
