Hi there,

I have an Audi A4 B8 Multitronic CVT and wanted to know if this transmission
is made by Audi or not. I have found a company called "JATCO" provides almost
all the CVT transmission around the world for almost all the car manufacturers,
including the VW Group.

Does anybody knows this ?

the multitronic is manufactured by Audi with components from LUK ((pulleys, chain and hydraulic).

Thank you for the information. Do you know exactly why AUDI does not provide Quattro (4WD) models with the CVT option ? I have read that the CVT is not capable of providing enough torque to support a 4WD. But other manufacturers support them. So, is this really an engineering issue or a
marketing one ?

I love the CVT in my Audi A4 and also love the Quattro transmission. But I can't
get both. Only FWD + CVT or Quattro + DSG, but not Quattro + CVT.
