Updated stats in a couple of days. Excellent participation by B8 owners, though more would always be better.

Aiming to have a separate stat for the 2010 S4 with the next update, in August.

 

We've updated the results for the B8 A4 to include owner experiences through March 31, 2010. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2010: 23, better than average; hope to post separate results for the S4 in August

2009: 66, about average

2010 A4: 36, better than average

2010 S4: 27, better than average, lower average odometer (3900 vs. 5900)

2009 A4: 72, about average

We've updated the results for the B8 A4 and S4 to include owner experiences through September 30, 2010. Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the months since April until the summer or even fall of next year.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2010 A4: 39

2010 S4: 39

2009: 71

All are about average, though the 2009 is drifting higher.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

With the B8 A4, the percentage with no repairs is 60 for the 2009 and 65 for the 2010, while the percentage with 3+ repair trips is about 4 for the 2009 and less than one for the 2010.
