Yeah i was thinking the same thing cause i also dont want to make it a mission for me to drive at night, but my interior is black so i was figuring the 20% would make it look dark regardless

Mines is brilliant black w/black interior and 15% tint all around. Wouldn't want it any darker or lighter. I live in California and haven't been stopped yet. By the way, any tint in the front two windows here is illegal.

I just checked with DMV in Los Angeles, they said that some window tint is allowed on the front two windows. Anyways, here is a chart of the tint laws per state.

I live in Jersey as well and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with tints. I have an avant so I definitely want something so you can't see in the back.

I have horrible eyesight so I wonder if I might get my eye doctor to give me that prescription.

So I don't understand why you guys are worrying about tints so much. I had 15% all around in my trailblazer in CT while I was in high school. Then I had a g35 coupe which I put 5% on while I am here in AZ and now I've got the A4 with 5% all around and I have never been hassled about the tints. I have been pulled over multiple times in all those cars and never even sweated it and the cops didn't say anything about it. Have you guys really been hassled about tints before?

I tried going that route. I got denied because my eye doctor said it wouldn't be allowed. He was willing to make the request, but that there was no way it would be approved. And I have an actual issue with my eyes! Poor eye sight alone won't be enough to get approval from the state or whatever. Best of luck, but I just don't see it happening.

Default Window Tint

I put 20 all around except the windshield...i live in long island never had problems with the cops here.....but everytime i go to queens or brooklyn got a ticket. So i put 35% on both the front window and left the 20 in the back. No problems yet...also its not that hard to remove the brake light its 2 clips that hold em .... all u have to do is slide it out. Ill attach a pic from my car in a bit.

Default NY Window Tint

I was planing to tint my windows. I searched the NY State legislature on-line and found pending bills in committee. They plan to make tint density an annual inspection item and increase fines for violations. I believe only 75% sides are the limit. Not worth the hassle IMHO.

Seems an Officer was killed while approaching an SUV with tinted windows.

I assume it will pass. Tickets are a revenue source and the Governor is blind.
