Recently, I hit a deer, causing damage to the front passenger area. The headlight, fender and grill were replaced at a shop my insurance company favors. The night I picked up the car, I noticed the heat was not blowing at all. After checking the fuses, which were all fine, I contacted the garage and my insurance company. Without doing a full diagnostic, the garage is doubtful that it was the result of the accident-in which case my insurance will not cover it. Can this really be a coincidence?? Mind you, this is a small town garage and does not specialize in foreign vehicles. I can confirm that the blower was working and running the night I hit the deer. I opted not to have the full diagnostic done there just yet...if they are right, and it just broke on its own, then I will take it to the dealership where I bought it (over 2 hours away) as it is covered under my warranty. However, if the dealership discovers that it is from the accident, the warranty will not cover it.
This seems too strange to be a coincidence? Has anyone ever heard of this kind of wreck leading to motor blower damage?
