Default Burning a lot of oil? Solution found

When I purchased my 2009 A4 used, it burned a quart of oil in 1500 miles. I removed the hose from the oil seperator valve (otherwise known as a PCV valve) from the air intake (red circle) and found oil in the hose. The dealership replaced the oil seperator valve (green circle) and now my oil level hasn't dropped off max in almost 1000 miles. The dealership initally told me that 1500 miles was in spec, I insisted this was an Audi not a dump truck and pointed out this valve could be the problem (thanks to someone else's posting on AudiForums.com!) and they replaced it twice to fix the problem.

I found this coincidentally when I applied the APR Stage I modification and the car immediately got a error code 299 for low boost. Replacing this valve made the error less frequent, though they ultimately found the wastegate valve was sticking before the low boost problem went away.

Now that the initial problems are fixed, I love this car!

that is a very interesting and very valid fix dennison. one other thing you guys can do is get a catch can. it eliminates the hose from the intake mani and the PCV valve. the other side of the catch can attaches to the turbo. this eliminates most of the blow-by leading to a cleaner engine without as much blowby in the intake system.
