Owners manual says car washes are ok, but not to wax for a month. They really seem to discourage handwashing if you read it closely (because dirt can get trapped in the towels, etc.).

I'm in NY and the weather here has been kinda shitty with the snow and all and the car needs a cleaning. I've read about some gorror stories at "brushless hand washes." They use the same towels over and over which results in the trapped dirt leaving swirl marks.

Just want to get some opinions of what you guys are doing with your rides when it comes to washing. I'd do it mself, but its too friggin cold.
Probably depends on the color you got. I'm qtz gray and did not get these "instructions" from the "know it all" dealership. I have gone through a car wash a dozen times since purchase and it looks spotless, paint is seamless. So not sure what you're getting but if it's not in the manual I would say possibly it was "rushed" out the door to you but how is that possible?????

All modern paint will hold up well for a while but the micro scratches will add up as the car ages. It may take years but eventually "rough" washing will take it's toll on the glossy finish.

You should never put your car through a car wash or use a jet wash. A good hand wash using as little contact as possible with the correct products and clothes will keep the car free from swirls and marks in the clearcaot.

I sealed and waxed mine 4 weeks after she was built and the paintwook is spotless even under lights.

Yeah, someone else told me the same thing last week. I also order all cleaning supplies - microfiber was mitt, microfiber towels, etc. so I'm all set for when it gets warmer.
