Got an Audi for my wife, damn good trade.
Its maybe a little misleading but I thought it would get a couple of laughs. My wife read it over my shoulder the other day and didnt think it was that funny. She's over it though since my intent is to help her.
In hind sight I should have started another thread for my questions but how many people would read a thread titled "My AMI isnt working".
For an update on my AMI issues: Ive called the two semi local dealerships that dont seem to want to be very helpfull. They each want a hundred plus dollars an hour and dont seem to know anything about updating the AMI software. So that's on hold untill the new year.
I found the AMI cable part # 4f0 051 510e on e-bay for $20 so I thought that is a cheap thing to try in the mean time. Just orderd that today, once it arrives I"ll let you all know how it turns out.

So here is the update with the new cable part # 4f0 051 510e. With the new cable installed and all of the updated iPods, iPhone, and iPad there is more life from the AMI but it is still not working.
With the original cable (the blue one) the AMI didn’t recognize that anything was plugged into it and only showed as empty in the media/source menu. Now with the new cable the media/source menu says Audi Multimedia.... then the screen says that the AMI does not recognize the cable or the connected device.
So at least it recognizes that there is something there, that’s an improvement.
Any suggestions from here?
