Default Help a possible new owner

So I am interested in selling my 2004 Mustang GT to get a used 2010 Audi A4 Quattro. What should I look out for when going to see them? How is maintenance? Will I be able to do simple maintenance on my own such as oil change, brakes (pads and rotors), air filter, etc.

Thanks!!

For the most part pretty simple cars to work on. Oil changes are not to bad. Good idea to get a filter drain tool so the oil does not run all over the frame when changing.

As far as brakes the rears i believe have a electric rear caliper (better know what you are doing before messing around with them).

Good luck!

How much experience do you have with vehicles in general? all vehicles are essentially the same. The differences with Audi's from what I can see are all the silly gadgets they put into everything that make them annoying.

Over all I like the car though.

i used to own a 98 mustang GT which was super easy to work on myself. i find this car a challenge to work on. get the audi care package and let the dealer do it all for "free".

Thanks for the quick responses! What are the differences between the 09 and 10 A4 Quattro? Was there any body changes? If it is mostly the same build I think I would rather a 09 for a few grand less.

i think the chassis is the same for both years. the engine is also pretty much the same. my guess is minimal difference.

Get an extended warranty if it isnt certified. I bought used and had to have the motor replaced. I paid $100 instead of $5000

Mind elaborating? Why did you need the motor replaced? did you not see signs of failure such as ticking, low compression, etc?

No signs really. One day, while driving it started sounding like a lawn mower. I stopped at the nearest safe place and had it towed to the dealer. Verdict was a gouged cylinder wall.

Oh wow, and how'd that happen? I cant even think of a reason that would happen aside from no oil.
