I was at the local Audi dealer over the weekend and I saw something odd. It was a 2009 A4 but it was badged 2.0TDI on the trunk. I did not see anything on their site about a diesel powered A4 and although I couldn't see the entire dealer sticker the price did not suggest a diesel premium. I will try to get back to the dealer soon to take a picture of it but does this car exist?

 

The 2.0TDI certainly exists. The biggest seller across Europe as the car is seen as your average young exec company car. Not sure if you would get such an Engine in the US tho with your passion for all things with a V in them!

 

Hmm so the TDI motor now is a 2.0. It was definitely badged as one, but I thought that they were getting shipped across the pond.

Audi announced a few months ago (March or so?) that there would be a diesel A4 in the states this year, but my dealer has been telling me that there's no word about when. If it's really here, that's great news!

Where is the dealer where you saw the TDI?

You sure that wasnt TFSI? last i heard they havent even brought the diesels over yet.
