P0299 (Inactive) permanent code reset
I have a P0299, inactive, permanent code on my 2012 A4 with 93K miles, I have gone thru over 17 warm-up cycles and 250+ miles, after repairs and the last MIL reset, there is no CEL and no other active codes. However, the smog guy, a test-only station in California, says the permanent code needs to go away before the smog test will pass.
1) Is the smog guy correct on his claim?
2) Any idea if the permanent code will get auto-reset, if so under what conditions?
Any help/feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks

Your turbo maybe done, The good news is that you no longer need to put a new turbo. You can fix it in a minutes by using the turbo bend tool

Good luck

Just ordered that Turbo repair tool. It makes sense that it should work, I'm really hoping I don't have to pull the turbo as the video claims. I'll post an update after I've used it to shorten the wastegate actuator rod.
