Purchasing 2009 Audi A4 2.0 T with Oil Accumulation
I'm considering purchasing a used A4;
- 2009 A4 2.0 Sedan, Audi Certified
- Oil accumulation around valve cover cylinder head and front engine cover
- Car is under warranty for a short period.
- Dealer trying to tell me it's not an oil leak, but is "sweating"
- ~$24,200
- 57,000 km
Reasonable to purchase only if the oil leak is repaired, or is this oil accumulation not something to worry about?
Anyone have detailed info on criteria for this oil leak repair being under warranty?
Thanks for any guidance you can give me,
john

can you post a picture. there is a little metal tray thing on the passenger side of the head right by the valve cover gasket. it doubles as a heat shield and oil collector for oil that comes out of the valve cover in that area. it's not supposed to leak but it still does and it's like that for all the B8 A4s.
i would look for a 2010-2012 since they have the projector housing headlights and LED tail lights. retrofitting is a kind of a pain if you go with the 2009
