where to buy oem oil filter for avant?
well i finally figured it out... sort of a pain in the a$$.
The filter part is w719/45, but good luck finding that even with google. I just found a forum listing of a vw guy who was as confused as I am and he got no answer.
This place sells it, and looking for filters there by car type brings it up eventually, but the final sale page at http://www.europaparts.com/audi-oil-...6j115403c.html does not say w719/45. The filter photo there shows a certain part 06J 115 561 B which is the same as on my car's current filter, but the page says 06J 115 403 C as far as the part number in text. After more use of google, both of those numbers seem to be the same filter as far as people can tell.
By the way, don't trust autozone, callahan's, or other major car parts stores, they are still trying to sell a cartridge replace for this 2009 a4 2.0t engine--idiots.
The only redeeming grace here after this search hassle is that I won't have to jack my car and crawl under for a drain pan and underbody panel removal for an oil change, now that I ordered one of those oil vacuum pumps. I hope this info helps somebody else in my situation--I HATE taking my car to the stupid dealer for anything now that the free 5000k thing is done.
