Winter Wheels & Tires
I need some help. I have a 2010 A4 w/ the 19' Sport package but I need to get some Winter rims and tires. Can someone provide me with the info on my current wheels? I have searched around but can't find info on these specific wheels.
Also, I am looking for recommendations on winter wheel and tire options? Should I go down to 18s?
Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks!

Can't comment on your current wheel's specs.
For snow/ice tires, yeah, you should probably drop one maybe even two sizes/. Skinnier, taller tires have an easier time knifing through large amounts of snow. Plus, with a smaller contact patch, you have more weight per square inch making contact (better traction).
Tire Rack is a good starting point, in my opinion.

all OEM audi wheels from B7 and earlier will not fit the B8. the hub bore is too small.
OP: what you need is a set of 17s (preferably) with a hub bore of at least 66.56mm. ET doesn't matter too much but stay within the +38 to +42 range. get a set of 225/50/17 tires and you'll be golden

just go to tirerack.com and input your make and model with the optional tire size. it'll pick the tire specs for you. i just picked up a set of continental extremewintercontact for the golf and a set of continental extremecontact DWS (all season) for the audi. both are highly rated.
18" Winter tire typically costs $50 more than the 17" each, i.e. ~$200 a set. From a cost stand point, if the B8 S4 wheels are priced right, I would take them.
One consideration though, narrower tires have better snow traction in general. So, 17" tire would be better if your winter driving involves going through a lot of deep snow.

This will be my first winter with my 09 A4. I'm sticking with the 18" Yokohama all-season tires and we'll see how they do. I live in the midwest where the winters are brutal so I'm hoping the AWD will compensate a bit for my lack of specific winter tires. We will see!
