Drove a Audi A6 3.0T FSI (Supercharged) Today
We received a brand new A6 S-Line today with the new 3.0T FSI Supercharged engine (300hp). Car is already sold, just needed the transportation cover removed and pre-delivery inspection completed.
Come to think of it, I should have shot a pic of the actual car ^ ^, had a awesome gloss black grill with chrome trim.
They went the supercharged route on this V6 to conserve the powerband of the 4.2L without the poor fuel economy. During the test drive you can notice it feels a little weaker than expected, until you let the RPMS climb well over 3k! A variation of this engine is in the new S4 (330hp), and while that's 10hp less than the previous 4.2L found in the S4, the new S4 is lighter, and doesn't suck down the petrol.
All in all, I will still take the 4.2L chain drive please, there are things more important than gas milage
We need not even mention the newer 4.2L FSI.
