Hope everyone likes what Audi looks like right now
With Porsche taking over VW and it's subsidiaries including Audi. I hope all those obsessed with Audi, including me, like what it looks like right now, because you know Porsche won't change the body shape for probably the next 1000000 years.
It's absolutely amazing how Porsche did it. I was completely shocked.

they aren't taking over... its bad terminology.
they are the major share holders... 50.8% last i heard... they want to buy up to 75% by years end, which would give them full control.
and porsche and Audi are practically the same car anyways...
you ever sit in a Cayenne and a Q7...?
But i have to agree.... Audi is the best looking cars on the market... hands down

u might be right, but I heard Porsche is already forcing Audi into not coming out with the R4 to avoid it from competing with the Boxter. If this is true now, I can imagine what they will do later.
And by the way, Porsche already controls 74% of shares, if you account for the 24% of stock options they hold

Porsche should embrace Audi coming out with a new line, because innovation and a drive to be the best has made Audi what it is today. If it wasn't for passionate engineers and designers, as well as good company leadership, it would still be the big 2 German car makers today. Instead, by coming out with this line of "R" cars, Audi is pushing to become THE stand alone, number one German car maker, ahead of BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Porsche should see future profits $$$$$$, not competition.
The R4, which is slated to come out in the summer of 2011 (yes, Audi did include the R4 in its future production list that came out recently!!!!!), will most likely feature 3 engine options. The options will be an entry level 2.0T engine, a diesel engine, and my favorite option: a 350 hp, 2.5 liter inline 5 cylinder turbocharged engine that will be in the TT-RS (I think). Every engine will be turbocharged, perfect for tuning.
Also, the R4, with an expected weight between 2425 and 2750 pounds, should be quicker than the Boxter, but slower than the 911. However, with a few "modifications" the R4 should be able to handle the 911 easily. As with the R8, Audi would like to add a convertible later in the car's life cycle.
Sorry I got off topic, but its easy to talk about the R4. I would love to modify this thing to take down the 911 . . . and Godzilla.
