I have imported numerous US built cars so I know the drill but am now looking at an 06 S4. It is a bit newer than I wanted but most 04-05s cannot be imported per the RIV site. What is the duty on a Euro built car? It looks like no mods required on an 06. Can anyone confirm that? thanks for any responses.

 

In answer to my own question it looks like 6.1% for any car not built in the USA or Mexico.

Just finished importing a 2006 A4, as of today. Assuming that the car can be imported (check www.riv.ca) the duty should be 6.0% which was what I was charged about 1 week ago onmy A4. Yes, you also have to pay GST as well to Rev Can at the border, in addition to the duty. You'll haveto pay PST (8%) when you get the car licenced in Ontario (after your Fed/Prov inspections)

This might be useful for future reference... It's a list of Audis we are and are not allowed to import.

 

duty is 6.1% or a total of 11% tax and duty if importing to Alberta..we have no PST..

 

Looks like we can't import any S4 between 2000 and 2004.
