Colorado Fuel Hunt
I have been on a 6 month hunt for gas stations that sell 93 octane fuel and have done everything short of refining my own fuel. I bought my 1.8 mapped for 93 I know the guy wasnt from here cause you cant get that crap anywhere.
I found 100 octane straight up race gas but as close as I can get at the pump minus adding octane boosters.
Help me out guys? someone has to know something

I did the same thing, bought a car from back east that was chipped for 93oct gas. I was mixing 100 oct race gas with the 91 to get 93, but that was expensive. I was considering buying toluene in bulk, but I found a better solution. I found a close local pump that has E85. E85 is 105-120 octane and lots of people with subaru's and whatnot run up to a 30% mixture of E85 on the stock programming without any issues. I have been putting about 3.5 ga of E85 per tank and it brings it up to like ~94.5 oct IIRC. Here's an octane calculator

I've been doing it for a year now with no issues, just remember that your gas is up to 10% ethanol anyways, so try to stay under 30-25% total ethanol. Good luck!

I was soooo close to turning into a mad scientist mixin and blowin up toluene in my garage. I never would have thought about that but you are perfectly right after confirming with the oracle wikipedia. Your experience is invaluable to me, I really appreciate it. And there is a dinky E85 station down from me....SICK
