ORIGINAL: vnv727

no..................i did it yesterday(in my older mac version) im running cs2 on xp but i keep and older one on my mac and the newest one on my mac so i can use the old one most of the time, but yeah i justed used a gif construction program, his file was too big to start with to move down to an avatar size it was like 60 something frames and like half a gig, so i just uploaded it onto an upload site did the thing and he decided to use it as his sig

on mac btw when you save for web, there is a btton to check on check with Animation controls, seems to be lacking on the windows, there is still an animation window in cs2 on xp but its rubbish

btw i tried using image ready but couldnt get it down to the right file size(25k or less) hence the workaround with another site hopsting....on these forums can another site host your avatar like they can host your profile pic or can you enter it into an [IMG] thing like i do for my sig???

peace out

he;s using the picture he asked to be resized as his sig. to get it under 25k u can;t have that many frames since to start out with his has around 60 frames its basically impossible to get it down to that size, while retaining quality. if the animation had fewer colors it would be simple, but since it is a clip from a movie it makes it rather shitty looking to reduce teh quality.

also when u save for web on photoshop there is a save file as a gif file, this does not mean that it is automatically a animation. non animated smilies are gif files because they have transparent backgrounds. so u dont see the white background around the smiley.

How come when I go to upload a file as my avatar I get "There was an error saving the file to disk" ?
The size is 8 kb and the dimensions are 96 x 96, so I know it's small enough!
Any ideas?

It's a gif, but I'm on my mac... that may be the problem.

Yeah I use photobucket, but I want it as my avatar not sig.
I'll just have to e-mail it to myself and then go onto the windows computer downstaries.

Thanks for the help!
