Default 10vt vs 20vt

I've been thinking of putting a 20vt in my quattro rally project but after watching some videos on YouTube I've decided that the 10vt sounds better so I'm wondering if any one knows about both and can tell me some pros and cons for each of them (hp, tune-ability, strong points, weak points, etc.)

Thanks in advance

I'm probably beginning to sound like a broken record, but the people on MotorGeek will be able to answer that better than anyone I'm sure. I'd just tell you, but I don't really know. :\ What I do know is that the stock 2.3L 10v makes about 130hp while the 20v makes 170.

The 20V is way more "Tunable" than a 10V unless you want to replace the fueling system on the 10V with an aftermarket EFI type setup. The 20v's head flows alot more and has pretty much an unlimited top end. The 10V's head is limiting to about 600 hp unless you want to do some pretty drastic porting.

My goal is to have around 300 bhp and not much more because of rally racing restrictions, group B doesn't exist any more so 600+hp is not an option.

there's a 10vt on craigslist right now for 400 that i am thinking of buying so i want to know if it's worth it and how well it will run around 300 horses. If i don't end up buying this and tuning it then I'll probably end up buying a 20vt from 2bennett for 4-5 grand wich runs 285 bhp.

If you go EFI 300hp on a 10V is no problem. You start running into issues with CIS around 300-325 hp.
