Hi group-

My owner's manual tells me that my transmission contains hypoid gear oil that doesn't need to be changed. I don't believe it. Where is the check/fill plug in my 5000s' 5 speed transmisison, and what do you guys reccomend I fill it with? Thanks!!!

 

well if your manual says that then it is fine ...i have no idea you dont see alot of those cars i had a 92 audi 100 and thats the oldest ive seen in a couple years

 

the tranny is filled for life unless you sprung a leak, there is a bolt on the side for topping up, the 4000/5000 are the same as the 200/100 series in the UK the 200 being the turbo
