Default 1987 5000s tranny problem

Hi everyone. Well i've had this car for a couple years now and since i've purchased it things have been goin wrong. After replacing just about every electrical thing on the car, flushing the tranny and a complete brake job, the car starts and runs great. But now my Auto transmission will not upshift, the car goes into reverse fine and actually goes into Drive, while accelerating the rpms just keep going up and no shift, if i get the rpms up and let go of the gas and then press the gas again it will up shift. Has a winding sound like its slipping. Also when I changed my tranny fluid and filter I noticed some pieces of plastic in the bottom of the pan. Any ideas? thnx.

well I can't seem to find much on the governor and oil pick up. Do you mean oil pick up tube? my haynes manual shows nothing about a governor, where is it located? Is it repairable? Is it better to find a new tranny? thnx for the help.

Ok, need to get to the bottom of this issue. When i filled up the tranny fluid on my Audi i mistakingly added the fluid while the car was not running, or at least not at the right temperture. Now the dip stick says its overfilled. Could this be causing the problem. Still cant find any info on the governor or oil pickup. Need help plz. How can i fix the slip problem.

Poor rex2285 is talking to himself.

I'll attempt to look at my manual tonight to see if I can find the governor/speed sensor or whatever.
