Default 1988 audi 80

i have an 88 audi 80 2.0 5spd that has issues It started as power loss with a screaming noise @3000rpms tore off all other belts noise seemed to come from timing cover replaced timing belt still had no pwer still screamed noticed leaky cam seal while I changed belt. car ran a little better over all although that only lasted for about 500mi car idle started to go jekyll and hyde on me running smoothly most of the time but sometimes the idle would hop violently and want to stall. I could keep it from stalling by staying on gas and keeping rpms up, but turning it off and starting it again corrected the problem for a while. Eventually it just quit on me. The car was running fine(aside from the terrible screaming noise that comes from the engine and not being able to go above 3000rpms) I pushed in the clutch to make a turn and the rpms got down low enough and the car stalled and has only sarted once since then and only for about two seconds. The car turns over the fuel pump whines. I removed spark plug and touched it to the engine while we turned the ignition but it seems to make very little spark.going only once when I first turn the ignition. Can anyone tell me why my car is dying?

It could be the rotor in the distributor. pop the cap off and have a look at the wear on the rotor. If this worn out or off balance it will cause low spark, missfires and low power and could scream. Replaced this on a volvo and it fixed firing issues.

scream noise could be a power steering belt as for the idle chances are it the idle bypass valve bunged up or an air pipe split and very common on these beauties, also the oil dip stick seal if failed causes the engine to run bad
