Default 1988 Audi 90 - Questions

Now.. the newbie questions.
- aftermarket K&N Cone filter? yes or no
- will 17" rims with 50 series tires work nicely on this unit?
- what should I watch out for?
- Is there a firm like IPD for Volvos, for Audis? If so, anyone got a link?
- suspension. Eibach good for springs? What about shocks? thicker anti-sway bars? I'd like it tight. Am willing to sacrifice ride comfort for handling. Would like ti lowered 1.5 to 2 inches.
- recommendations of a 2 1/2" exhaust system? headers?
- drivetrain upgrades. What where, how?
- thoughts on how to increase the power? It seems a tad slugglish off the line? of course I am comparing that to a 92 BMW 325i with a bunch of mods.
- chips. Who does em? Can I replace the chip, does it have a chip?
- Body kits? Links, thoughts, etc?
- any good threads on the forum I can/should read?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Default rims and tire

be careful what rims you buy for your ride because the bolt pattern is irregular on most older audis...at least that what i encountered with a 1988 5000

-drop in filter fine, anything else is pointless on our cars
-17" might look fine. Just get the size no larger that 215/65 R15. I run those and they fit up front. use calculators online.
-everything, do regular maintenance
-there are couple. old audies suffer from low aftermarket. Got to make your own stuff. Like I do. I think 034 motor sports lead the aftermarket right now.
-springs and shocks, good luck. Most likely shocks, some aftermarket might find. Wont be the best out there. Might have to do some your own search. Springs, I seen drops, Eibach has them, they go as universal springs I think.
-headers? no idea. everything else might have to be made custom. You might be luckier by taking your own headers out, sending them out and getting a flange cut for you.
-drivetrain? you have quatro? then couple things I seen, 1 peace drive shaft, and higher bias torsen.
-power? turbo maybe?
-chip, for that old car?. More luck putting the stand alone from 034 motor sports.
-body kits? hmm, I remember there is one company that did them. Do the B4 hood conversion, you have B3 most likely.. That is the most common body mod.
-All

and replace the steering rack ahead of time, biggest problem on those cars was the pump and hydro with the slime. i never found much aftermarket but bein there older you can get away with more homemade stuff.
