Default 84 audi coupe gt

whats crackin? i picked up an 84 coupe gt a couple months ago and i was wondering what can i do to give it some power!? i have a civic that has about 160 hp and then i hop in this car and it dogs big time. whats the best/cheapest way to get some power out of this beast? ohh yeah and my oxy light is on. but the weird thing is when i bought the car there was a plug that connects to the speedo cable box that was unplugged, and when i plugged it in my oxy sensor went on and my e-brake light stopped working, any ideas?

well im not positive about this one but i bet you could put a turbo engine in. from either a UR Quattro or a 5ktq... not positive again but i know you can for UR Quattros and 4k's and i think its all pretty much the same engine compartment. would have to move some stuff around of course. but then there are the usual. air filter and everything else

A swap from a 5000 turbo is very straightforward.
You need the engine, the harness, the downpipe, and the manifolds, and turbo/IC
You'll also need a passenger side tie rod assembly from an urQuattro in order for the tie rod to clear the waste gate.
That'll make the car quite quick.
Other than that, there's not a whole lot that can be done to make those cars very fast...a few bolt on parts...camshaft..exhaust...
I think if you get it well sorted (IE the oxygen sensor replaced), and a good tune up, it'll make a difference!

thanks for the suggestions, i dont think im going to be holding onto this car for too long, so i'll have to pass on the engine swap. its just what im driving until i can get my civic fixed, cause i got some b/s transmission off of a guy on craigslist (i know dumb). But i think ima get an oxy sensor, a k&n filter or equivalent, maybe some little stuff beyond that. I was reading some where that the engine in this audi only has 10 valves (terrible). it'd be sweet if i can swap like a 20 valve head on it or something.
