hi, i'm a new audi owner and am in love with my car but i don't know how to diagnose problems on it yet and am in dire need of help to avoid huge repair costs.

as i was up-shifting from 4 to 5 something broke and it wouldn't change. i was able to downshift into 2nd but haven't been able to shift it from there since. also the whole feel and position of the gear slot positions have change all moving to the left.

i have talked to several family members with extensive car experiance and they and i have concluded that it's a broken shift linkage. if not let me know what you think.

And where can i get stock replacement and performance parts for my 1985 4000s?

 

check under the car and oyull see if its broken
