I just got a new A80 and the engine is much worse off than I orginally thought. I'm going to need to either rebuild or (preferably) swap something different. Does anyone know what my options are for swapping? I would REALLY like to drop in something with a turbo if that's possible from other models. Thanks, great forum.

 

If it's rebuildable go for it and if the motor suffered some catastrophic fate your best bet will be to hunt around for a donor motor. Preferably from a similar year, model and options. I have done three rebuilds and I am looking at a fourth. Don’t go crazy, there is no need to re-bore and re-mill everything as some machine shops will make you believe. Sometimes new piston rings, seals, bearings and gaskets are all you need.
