ive just bought a series 1 1.9 coupe ( mint shell) and a series 2 2.2 (rotten shell) im going to put the 2.2 in the series 1 shell, what im going to do first is strip the engine and do a full rebuild, small end big end all gaskets, seals uprated cams, valves and bearings, purely so it will be strong enough to take a turbo, please correct me if im wrong, was it a garret t5 in the series 2 2.2? would a recon turbo and wastegate be ok? its a 10v would a 20v go on without to much fighting? finally where is a good place online be to get all the parts? cheers

 

I've got a RS2 replica turbo and manifold on my 2.2. Through digging for parts, I would say a good place to start is 034motorsport.com. They have complete kits and installation instructions usually. You will most likely need to do some ECU changes to get the performance out of the turbo. Check it out.
